In Schools

This body of work is deeply influenced by my experiences in nature due to my upbringing near the Chesapeake Bay, visiting family in southern Pennsylvania, and frequently camping and fishing in Harpers Ferry, WV. This work examines how shared experiences between seemingly different individuals can bridge and bring communities together and opens up the questions of existence as an individual or as part of a group and being able to exist in both identities. Through this, I aim to delve into the complexities of belonging, the value of the unique in nature, cultural preservation, and the evolving relationship between people and the land. The fish serve as a symbol of the self and the environment simultaneously, reflecting its place within the larger, interconnected whole.
